From designing our programs to instructing our students, Teseo Academy’s founder, Amanda, does it all! As an Ontario Certified Teacher, she is qualified to teach elementary-level literacy/numeracy to secondary-level Math and Science. After working with students with learning disabilities at McMaster University, she developed a fascination with how brain science can heighten learning. This fascination led her to author academic publications and engage in lab research examining test anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, and working memory. Amanda uses this knowledge to make the exciting world of brain science come alive in her classes and show students how powerful their minds can be. Amanda’s mission is to use her collection of qualifications and 14 years of teaching/tutoring experience to help students everywhere unlock their learning superpowers!

Robert Teseo
Creative Director and Instructor

As the other Teseo in Teseo Academy, Rob brings two critical facets to his students: industry experience as an engineer and strong academic skills as a graduate of Queen’s University. Rob has over five years of experience working in theoretical physics and mechanical design. He is a brilliant engineer with an aptitude for project management and leadership. As a former Queen’s University race car driver, Rob exposes his students to the real world of motion and aerodynamics, manifesting the exciting features of vehicle dynamics in the classroom. Rob’s lessons bring excitement, innovation, and simplicity to complex subjects; he makes physics, math, and science understandable and fun!

Anastasia Giachalis
Administrative Director

Qualifications

  • BSc (candidate): Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences
  • Academic Background: Biology, Biochemistry, Global Health, and Child Development

Anastasia brings dedication, creativity, and compassion to Teseo Academy. As a volunteer at Sick Kids Hospital, she built a deep-rooted love for children and health care. This experience led her to study health sciences at Queen’s University. She is currently working towards a career as a Speech-Language Pathologist and bringing what she’s learning to our students. Anastasia has a collection of qualities that she brings to her roles and responsibilities at Teseo Academy; she is responsible, detail-oriented, and patient.

Makayla

Makayla brings heart and enthusiasm into all that we create at Teseo Academy. As someone who battles cerebral palsy with strength and resilience, she is a role model for all of us.

Charlize

Charlize is our all-star student and athlete. She is fiery, attentive, and extremely bright. Although she’s going into grade 4, she has the maturity and intuition of an 18-year-old.

Sepanta

Sepanta is our intelligent, funny, and caring artist. When he’s not excelling at online learning or playing with his little sister, you can almost always find him drawing or playing with lego.

Zoey

Funny, fun, intelligent, and spunky, our Zoey brings energy into all our lessons. She’s in grade 8 and loves burritos, videogames, and hockey.
